Ultra-Trace Level Polychlorinated Biphenyl Analysis

Leeder Consulting offer a new method for detecting ultra-trace levels of Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) at low nanogram per litre levels in waters.

PCBs are classified as Persistent Organic Pollutants. They are stable in the environment and do not biodegrade readily. Even small levels of PCBs in the environment will cause significant problems. Once PCBs are part of the food chain they do not undergo biodegradation, instead being biomagnified in the fatty tissue of fauna as they move up the food chain.

PCBs are usually present in the environment as technical manufactured mixtures known as Aroclors. Leeder Consulting can analyse for a range of PCBs in water and identify the Aroclors that are present. All these PCBs can be analysed with a reporting limit of 10 ng/L in water in one comprehensive test. Leeder Consulting has attained NATA accreditation for the analysis of PCBs at these low levels. Leeder Consulting are acknowledged as pioneers in the field of ultra-trace level measurement.
